A new thousand-bedded facility will soon come up next to the existing Victoria Hospital situated in Bengaluru.

Authorities of the Bangalore Medical College and Research Institute (BMCRI) have planned to demolish a heritage structure part of the century-old iconic Victoria Hospital to pave way for the new building.

On December 11, 2019, Karnataka Chief Minister, B S Yediyurappa laid the foundation stone for the new hospital building at the same place.

There is also a proposal to have at least 30 Intensive Care Unit (ICU) beds on one of the floors of the multi-storeyed building. The new building will also house ICU beds, in addition to a trauma centre.
