317 INR-Crore Para High Performance Sports Center to come up in Gandhinagar

Union Minister Amit Shah laid the foundation stone for a Para High Performance Sports Center in Gandhinagar today. Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel joined him for the ceremony. This ambitious project will take shape over the next two years, requiring an estimated investment of 316.82 INR-Crore.

The Para High Performance Sports Center will feature a state-of-the-art training facility for 12 out of 23 Paralympic games. Additionally, it will house an advanced sports science lab, ensuring top-tier athletic development. Designed for complete accessibility, the facility will cater to athletes of all abilities, making it a model of inclusivity.

Spanning around 24,290 SqM, the Para Sports Center will include two multipurpose halls, each with a 400-seat capacity. A cutting-edge fitness center, along with expert fitness coaches, will further enhance training opportunities.

The Para Sports Center will also provide facilities for various sports, including sitting volleyball, wheelchair rugby, wheelchair basketball, para dance sports, para powerlifting, badminton, table tennis, goalball, judo, taekwondo, and swimming. With these developments, the center aims to uplift para-athletes and redefine sports accessibility in India.
