To address the traffic woes in the High Court area of Allahabad, the Public Works Department of Uttar Pradesh has commenced the construction of a multi-level parking as an extension to the High Court. This extension will comprise a multi-level parking, an auditorium, a library, and 2600 chambers for lawyers. This parking building will be a big addition to the parking infrastructure of Allahabad and will ease movement in the areas surrounding the court. Apart from the parking facility, the new advocates’ chambers will also provide enhanced facilities for the lawyers.

Project Specifications:

The new land allocated for the extension to the court spans over 10.23 acres. This project will add 2,012,582 sq. ft. of parking in a multi-level building. These efficiently planned parking levels will solve the problem of haphazard parking and release traffic congestion in the precinct. The building will have 11 storeys in addition to the basement and the ground floors.

Impact:

The lack of adequate chambers and parking facilities was always a menace for both the lawyers and the citizens of Allahabad. Improved infrastructure is known to solve many civic and social problems. With this vision, the extension of Allahabad High Court was taken into light by the Public Works Department. The High Court is a national asset and any attempts to strengthen its image will sure lead to new growth corridors.
