An upcoming WBMSC Government Medical College and Hospital is being developed at West Bengal. The West Bengal Medical Services Corporation Limited (WBMSC) has established the foundation for WBMSC Government Medical College and Hospital, Uluberia & WBMSC Government Medical College and Hospital. The public building will be constructed into two campuses. They spread over a land area of 52.43 acres and have a construction area of 1,504,374 square feet.

Key Project Specifications:

The proposed project includes the construction of Uluberia Medical College & Hospital will be constructed in two campuses i.e. Uluberia SD Hospital campus comprising of 15.36 Acres of land (Address: Uluberia Sub Divisional Hospital, Mouja- Latibpur, L.R. No. 433, P.O- Uluberia, Dist- Howrah) and Jaduberia campus comprising of 7.26 Acres of land (Address: Mouja Jaduberia, L.R. No: 1356, P.O.- Uluberia, Dist- Howrah). The distance between these two sites is 2.6 Km.

The Jalpaiguri Medical College & Hospital will be constructed in two campuses i.e. Jalpaiguri District Hospital campus comprising of 16.19 Acres (Address: Jalpaiguri District Hospital, Mouza – Kharia J.L. No- 07 PS- Kotwali, Dist- Jalpaiguri) and Jalpaiguri Super Speciality Hospital campus comprising of 13.62 Acres (Address: Mouza – Kharia J.L.No: 07, PS – Kotwali, Dist- Jalpaiguri). The distance between these two sites is 4.2 Km.

Key Project Details:

The Uluberia Medical College & Hospital campus includes a 7-storey Teaching hospital with 300 beds. Hostels for students, interns and residential doctors with 9-floor levels and 356 beds for girls and boys each. The Jalpaiguri Medical College & Hospital campus includes a 9-storey Outpatient department block. Hostels for students, interns and residential doctors with 9-floor levels and 355 beds for girls and boys each.

Both the campuses consist of a 6 storey academic block that can accommodate up to 150 students and 9-storey teaching and non-teaching staff quarters each. The campus includes a nurse accommodation with 6-floor levels, a G+1 service building and other buildings like a central workshop, autopsy block, maintenance office and garbage store.

Key Project Amenities

The amenities consist of a cafe, restaurant, gymnasium, library, gardens, meeting and conference rooms to facilitate all the day to day activities of the students, interns and employees.

The campus planning has inculcated economic and environmentally sustainable strategies. The rainwater harvesting system and solar water heating ensure the efficient usage of water. The sewage treatment plant decontaminates the water of medical waste and chemical substances.
