Tamil Nadu Industrial Development Corporation Limited (TIDCO) has proposed the TIDCO Mega Sports City at Thiruvidanthai in Tamil Nadu. The proposed project envisages the setting up of a Mega Sports city with high-end sports facilities. This project will include amenities like a Gymnasium, facilities for indoor Table Tennis and Badminton Court. The project will also have outdoor facilities like an outdoor Tennis Court, a Basketball Court and a Multipurpose Court. In the coming years, this project will empower the sports sector of Tamil Nadu.
This project spans over a land parcel of 500 acres. The project will comprise an Open Air Stadium with 400 meters 9-lane Synthetic Athletic Track, a Natural Turf Football Field, an 8-Lane Synthetic Athletic Warm-up Track of 100 meters, an Indoor Synthetic Athletic Track, a Multipurpose Indoor Stadium for Basketball, Boxing, Handball and Volleyball, a Multipurpose Indoor Hall for indoor games like Fencing, Judo, Kabaddi, Kho-Kho and Taekwondo.
The project will also have a Hockey Stadium with synthetic turf, a Synthetic Hockey Field for training, a Tennis Stadium with Synthetic Surface, 10 Synthetic Tennis Courts, an Indoor Badminton Hall, an Indoor Hall for Table Tennis Competitions and an Indoor Skating Rink. The project will include a dedicated Multipurpose Indoor Training hall for Basketball, Boxing, Handball and Volleyball.
