PM Modi will unveil INR 7710 crore worth of projects in Rajkot

Prime minister Narendra Modi will lay the foundation stone for many projects worth INR 7710 Crore in Rajkot, Morbi, and other districts on Wednesday, 19th October 2022.

The major projects include INR 4,309 crores project in Rajkot, INR 2,738 crores in the adjoining Morbi district, and INR 633 crores in Jamnagar and other districts of the Saurashtra region. PM Modi is planning to lay the cornerstones for the milk processing factory of Amul in Rajkot (Construction Cost – INR 500 crores), a medical college in Morbi, and the expansion of the National Highway 27 from its current four lanes to six lanes. Additionally, he will initiate the opening of three flyover bridges in Rajkot city.

Rajkot Municipal Corporation (RMC) will build 1,144 affordable housing projects worth INR 118 crores which falls under the Light House Project initiative of the Central Government. The State Government would invest INR 85 crore in the construction of a Regional Science Center adjacent to the village of Madhapar. PM Modi will also inaugurate these two projects.

As stated in a formal announcement released by the officials, Modi will dedicate the flyover bridges built by RMC at the city’s Civil Hospital Chowk, Ramapir Chowkadi, and Nana Mava Circle to the general public. He will also dedicate two highways that link the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) campus, which is still under development, to the Jamnagar and Morbi Bypass roads. 

The announcement stated that PM Modi would also lay the cornerstones for certain village roads, as well as the GIDC estates in Nagalpar, Khirasar-II, and Pipardi. Overall, the PM will take multiple initiatives for many other endeavours worth INR 5,762 crores that are proposed to be undertaken in Rajkot, Morbi, and other Saurashtra districts. He will also lay the cornerstones for a number of other projects in Morbi, including a medical college, a ceramic park in Jambudiya Village, the expansion of the Morbi-Halvad State Highway into four lanes, the expansion of the Morbi-Jetpar State Highway into four lanes, a new district court building in Morbi, a new court building in Tankara Town, and a railway overbridge on the Wankaner-Navlakhi Railway line. 

Announcement of other development projects:

In addition, the PM will make announcements on projects worth INR 649 crore in the health, cooperative, transportation, and technology sectors. These projects include a technology hub in Gondal, the renovation of the Rajkot and Jamnagar railway stations, and the Makansar Gati Shakti terminal.

He will also inaugurate the Union Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs’ Urban Housing Conclave (MoHUA). From October 19 to October 21, a three-day conclave in Shashtri Maidan will be hosted and attended by the government, representatives from the construction industry, and other interested parties.
