1. MMRDA Twin Tube Road Tunnel between Borivali and Thane, Mumbai, Maharashtra

The MMRDA Twin Tube Road Tunnel project is a significant infrastructure development undertaken by the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA). The project involves designing and constructing an 11 km long twin tube highway tunnel between Borivali and Thane, two suburbs of Mumbai. The proposed tunnel will serve as a link between the northern suburb of Borivali and Thane.

The total construction cost for this project is 14,401 INR-crore. The project is divided into two packages: Package 1 and Package 2. Package 1 includes designing and constructing a 5.75 km twin tube road tunnel from the Borivali end. The estimated cost for this package is 7,464 INR-crore. Package 2 involves the design and construction of a 6.09 km twin tube road tunnel from the Thane end. The estimated cost for this package is 6,937 INR-crore.

2. NHAI Six Lane Bridge across River Ganga, Bihar

The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) is developing a Six-Lane Bridge in Bihar across the River Ganga. The project is part of the Patna Ring Road (NH131G) and aims to connect Km 8.480 near Sherpur to Km 23.000 near Dighwara. The bridge and its approaches will span a total length of 14.52 km. The project will be implemented under the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) mode.

The total estimated cost of the project is 3,012 INR-crore. SP Singla Constructions has been declared as the lowest bidder for the construction of this project.

3. NHAI Tharad – Ahmedabad Expressway

The Tharad – Ahmedabad Expressway in Gujarat is a proposed project by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI). It is part of the Bharatmala Pariyojna (BMP), which is a national highway development project in India. The expressway is planned to be an access-controlled highway with a total length of 213.803 km. It is intended to have either 6 or 8 lanes, providing a high-speed and efficient transportation route.

As a greenfield expressway, it will be developed on a new alignment, entirely within the state of Gujarat. The estimated cost of the project is 7,798 INR-crore.

4. NHAI Four Lane Thiruvananthapuram Outer Ring Road

The Thiruvananthapuram Outer Ring Road (ORR) or Outer Area Growth Corridor (OAGC) project is an approved 6-lane access-controlled highway being developed by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI). It is designed to encircle Thiruvananthapuram (Trivandrum), the capital city of Kerala. The project involves the construction of a 4-lane semi-circular greenfield expressway, designated as NH-866. It will connect National Highway NH-66 at Navaikulam with Vizhinjam Port, which is part of the Capital Region Development Programme-II (CRDP-II).

The estimated cost of the Thiruvananthapuram Outer Ring Road project is 2,967 INR-crores.

5. Mumbai-Ahmedabad High-Speed Rail (MAHSR)

The Mumbai-Ahmedabad High-Speed Rail (MAHSR) project, also known as the Mumbai-Ahmedabad Bullet Train project, is a high-speed rail line under construction in India. It will connect Mumbai in Maharashtra with Ahmedabad in Gujarat, covering a distance of 508.17 km. The project is being executed by the National High-Speed Rail Corporation Ltd. (NHSRCL). The high-speed trains on this line will operate at a speed of 320 km per hour on an elevated viaduct, except in Mumbai where the line will be built underground using Tunnel Boring Machines (TBMs).

The corridor will pass through Maharashtra, Gujarat, and Dadra and Nagar Haveli and the entire distance is expected to be covered in two-three hours and will cover 12 stations en route. The estimated cost of the project is 1.1 Lakh INR-crore.

6. Delhi – Meerut Regional Rapid Rail System

The Delhi-Meerut Regional Rapid Transit System (Delhi-Meerut RRTS) is an ongoing infrastructure project in India, managed by the National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC). It is part of Phase I of the Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) initiative, which aims to establish high-speed rail corridors connecting cities in the National Capital Region (NCR) for improved regional connectivity. The Delhi-Meerut RRTS corridor covers a distance of 82.15 km and will connect Delhi, Ghaziabad, and Meerut. This semi-high-speed rail corridor is designed to operate at a maximum speed of 180 km per hour allowing commuters to travel between Delhi and Meerut in less than 60 minutes. The project includes the construction of 24 stations.

With an estimated cost of 30,274 INR-crore, the project is being funded jointly by the Indian government and the respective state governments involved.

7. Navi Mumbai Greenfield International Airport

The Navi Mumbai Greenfield International Airport is a new international airport being constructed in Ulwe Kopar-Panvel, Maharashtra, India. The project is being developed jointly by the government-owned City and Industrial Development Corporation of Maharashtra Limited (CIDCO) and the private consortium Navi Mumbai International Airport Limited (NMIAL), which includes Adani Enterprises Limited. The terminal will offer 78 contact airport positions, which are gates equipped with aerobridges, as well as 29 remote aircraft positions for boarding and disembarking aircraft using shuttle buses or walking on the tarmac. Furthermore, there will be more than 350 check-in counters available to cater to the passengers’ needs.

The estimated cost of the airport project is INR 16,800 crore. It is being developed in four phases.

8. Jewar Greenfield International Airport, Noida

The Noida International Airport is being developed under a Public-Private partnership led by Zurich Airport International AG and government agencies including the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority, Noida International Airport Limited, and the Directorate of Civil Aviation under the Uttar Pradesh government.

The Airport aims to serve as an alternative to the crowded Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi and is expected to become India’s largest airport. The development of the airport will happen in a phased manner under four phases. A land area of 3,296.38 acres is allocated for Phase 1 and Phase 2 of this project. The construction cost for Phase 1 alone amounts to INR 3,745 crore.

9. RLDA Redevelopment of Railway Station, New Delhi

The Ministry of Railways (MOR) and the Rail Land Development Authority (RLDA) have undertaken the redevelopment of the New Delhi Railway Station, as part of their policy to modernize railway stations across India. To achieve this goal, RLDA has appointed Tractebel as the Architect and Technical Consultant to develop a master plan for the station that integrates it with city infrastructure, provides world-class facilities to railway passengers, and ensures smooth entry and exit from the station. The plan will also explore opportunities for multi-modal integration wherever possible.

This project, estimated to cost 4,925 INR-Crore, aims to use state-of-the-art technology to enhance passenger amenities and maximize revenue.

10. SMPK Greenfield International Container Transshipment Port, Great Nicobar Island

The SMPK Greenfield International Container Transshipment Port project on Great Nicobar Island in the Andaman & Nicobar Islands is being developed by the Syama Prasad Mookerjee Port Trust, with an estimated construction cost of 18,000 INR-crore. The project involves the construction of two 3-km long breakwaters, a 400-meter-wide navigational channel, an 800-meter-diameter turning circle, and the reclamation of approximately 125 hectares of land for the development of a container yard and other infrastructure facilities. The port aims to have a total container berth length of about 2.3 km.
