Telangana govt allots Godrej Agrovet 47,000 acres for oil palm plantation

Telangana’s Department of Agriculture and Cooperation (Horticulture and Sericulture) has allotted approximately 47,000 acres of land in Sangareddy district to Godrej Agrovet for oil palm plantation. The company will utilize the allocated area to expand oil palm cultivation and establish processing units. 

Recently, the company inaugurated an edible oil refinery in Chintalapudi, Eluru district. Balram Singh Yadav, Managing Director of Godrej Agrovet, expressed delight at receiving additional districts in the fresh allotment released by the Government of Telangana. 

The Telangana government has set a target of expanding oil palm cultivation across 20 lakh acres in the state. The Budget for 2023-24 proposes a total of INR 1,000 Crore for oil palm cultivation.
