On Tuesday, August 1st, Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy laid the foundation stone for the INR 600 Crore Inorbit Mall in Visakhapatnam, which will be built by K Raheja Group. Speaking at the event, the Chief Minister stated that the Inorbit Mall would become the ‘jewel’ of Visakhapatnam, as it is set to be the biggest shopping mall in South India. Additionally, the mall is expected to create direct and indirect employment opportunities for 8,000 people.
The Raheja Group plans to develop IT space and an international convention center on the remaining four acres during the second phase of construction, further generating employment for 3,000 individuals. Furthermore, the group has expressed interest in building super luxurious Raj Vilas-type hospitality facilities in Visakhapatnam, a city where May Fair and Oberoi Hotel groups are also constructing 7-star hotels and resorts.
In addition to the Inorbit Mall project, the Raheja Group has been allotted 350 acres in Hindupur, Anantapur district, for establishing a textile and electronic hardware hub, which is expected to provide employment opportunities for 15,000 people.
