On Thursday, September 14, Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone for the INR 49,000 Crore petrochemicals complex and refinery expansion project at Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd’s (BPCL) Bina refinery in Madhya Pradesh.
BPCL intends to increase the capacity of the Bina refinery from 7.8 million tonnes per annum to 11 million tonnes. The project will also yield more than 2200 kilotons of petrochemical products.

The Prime Minister additionally inaugurated ten projects, including the ‘Power and Renewable Energy Manufacturing Zone’ in Narmadapuram district, two IT parks in Indore, a Mega Industrial park in Ratlam, and six new industrial areas across Madhya Pradesh. In total, PM Modi inaugurated projects valued at over INR 50,700 Crore in the poll-bound state of Madhya Pradesh.
