Tamil Nadu Newsprint and Papers (TNPL) plans to invest 607 INR Crore on projects including energy efficiency improvements. The project involves the Revamping of Steam and Power Systems (RSPS), a 2 MW rooftop solar array, and a 500 M3 wastewater treatment facility.
The estimated deadline for the project is 2025. A capital outlay of 520 INR-Crore is expected for the same. Out of this, 100 INR crore will be spent this year.

RSPS involves the installation of 2 high-pressure boilers for utilities like steam and power for mill operations. The project also includes the installation of a 2 MW floating solar array. The wastewater treatment facility, with a capacity of 500 M3/ day, will be installed to treat and reuse the wastewater internally. The estimated cost for this project is 75 INR crore.
Furthermore, TNPL is exploring new segments to integrate into value-added products using paper and boards as raw materials and is in active discussions with paper machine manufacturers.
