The concept for the wildlife-friendly corridor was developed in consultation with the Wildlife Institute of India, Dehradun, and is envisaged to be the biggest and most comprehensive wildlife-friendly project. It will not only contribute towards the conservation of KNP but also enhance tourism potential, revenue generation, and community development in the area.

Apart from this, the minister also stated that the construction of the bridge over the Brahmaputra River (worth 2,600 INR-Crore) connecting North and South Guwahati is 78% complete and is expected to be functional by March 2024.
