Larsen and Toubro (L&T), on Monday, November 06, announced that its arm, L&T Construction had secured the order to construct the Greenfield Bhogapuram International Airport project in Andhra Pradesh. L&T, in the statement, mentioned that the project will initially be developed to handle 6 MPA (million passengers per annum) capacity that will further be upgraded to 12 MPA.
The scope of work includes – cut & fill works, terminal works with airport systems, airfield development works (south runway 3,800 m length, airfield ground lighting, fuel hydrant works, apron, taxiways, and other facilities), landside facilities (roads, landscapes, etc.), ATC tower, utilities & other support facilities.

The engineering, procurement, and construction of the GMR Visakhapatnam International Airport Limited will also be handled by the Buildings, Factories, and Transportation Infrastructure businesses of L&T.
