Odisha Government approves projects worth INR 4,804 crore

Odisha Government, on Thursday, December 07, approved 19 Industrial projects worth an estimated investment of 4,804 INR Crores. These projects will be developed in 10 districts and are anticipated to generate 17,553 new job opportunities.

The projects were approved during the SLSWCA (State-Level Single Window Clearance Authority) meeting. These are classified under various sectors such as apparel and textiles, steel downstream, paint (chemical), plastics, food, beverages and allied sectors, packaging metal downstream, steel (ferro alloys), IT Infrastructure, agro-processing, renewable energy, and circular economy & infrastructure.

The projects are:

Steel downstream:

  • Indian Metals and Ferro Alloys Ltd to invest nearly 977.43 INR crore in Jajpur to produce 2,20,000 MT Ferro Chrome and 20 MW WHRB Power.
  • Tata Steel Downstream Products Ltd and Jindal Stainless Limited will set up their service center units in Kalinga Nagar and JSL Stainless Steel Park, Jajpur, worth 735 INR crore and 150 INR crore, respectively. 
  • Crackers India Alloys Ltd will invest 101.50 INR crore in a 52,800 MT steel casting mill and a rolling mill in Barbil, Keonjhar. 
  • Envirocare Infrasolution Pvt Ltd will establish a 100 INR crore mild steel strips and pipes manufacturing unit (capacity of 2,88,000 TPA each) in Sundergarh.

Paint sector: 

  • Rungta Paints Private Ltd will set up its manufacturing unit for 991 INR crore in Dhenkanal. 
  • Berger Paints plans to set foot in Odisha with two of its ancillary companies investing 54.55 INR Crore and 51 INR Crore in manufacturing units in Khurda, for manufacturing plastic pails, lids, bottles, and drums.

Chemical Industry:

  • Modulus Oleochem and Surfactants Private Limited will set up a comprehensive chemical manufacturing unit in Baliapal Industrial Estate, Balasore, worth 313.51 INR crore
  • Transnova Express India Private Ltd to set up a worth 120.39 INR crore chemical hub (for bulk industrial chemical storage, re-packaging, and handling facility) in Khurda.

Food Industry:

  • Kaibalya Logistics Private Ltd to invest 110 INR crore in a Multi-Modal Inland Container Depot (ICD) in the Mahakalapada block of Kendrapara providing infrastructure for food products, export processing, and customs-clearing facilities. 
  • Ashirbad Food Processing Private Ltd will set up a 56.35 INR crore fully automated flour mill in Jajpur.

Renewable energy Sector:

  • Summa Real Media Private Ltd will set up an IT infrastructure complex in Khorda, worth 226.57 INR crore accommodating nearly 10,000 professionals.
  • Welspun Living Limited has proposed establishing a textile facility in Kendrapada at a projected investment of 200 INR crore.
  • Dhansar Group will set up a PFT (Private Freight Terminal) under the PM-Gati Shakti Multi-Modal Terminal scheme in Sundergarh, worth 190 INR crore.
  • Rajshree Polypack Ltd and Kesav Plasttech (P) Ltd will set up two manufacturing units worth 102.25 INR crore in Khurda and Rengali industrial areas, Sambalpur, respectively.
