KRDCL-RVNL, a JV between Karnataka Rail Infrastructure Development Company Ltd and Rail Vikas Nigam Ltd, has emerged as the lowest bidder (L1) for the major upgradation of Varkala Sivagiri Railway Station in Kerala. The project was awarded by the Central Railways at an estimated cost of INR 123 Crore.
The redevelopment is anticipated to be completed within 30 months of commencement. It envisages the development of airport-like facilities with separate arrival and departure corridors. The project design draws inspiration from the rich regional art and culture of the city.
