Foundation stone for INR 800 Cr Medical College laid in Panchkula

Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar, on Monday, January 15, laid the foundation stone for the medical college and hospital in Panchkula, Haryana. The project will be developed by Haryana Shahri Vikas Pradhikaran (HSVP) and named after Dr Mangal Sen.

The upcoming facility will come up over an anticipated 30 Acres of land in Sector 32 of Panchkula and will see an estimated investment of INR 800 Crore. Of this, INR 500 Crore will be sanctioned in the initial phase of the project, followed by the remaining INR 300 Crore. The project will include 100 MBBS seats and is scheduled to be completed within 30 months.

The CM also highlighted that the number of medical facilities in the state has increased from 6 to 12 between 2014 to 2019, and has reached up to 15 until now. He also mentioned the government’s plans to set up para-medical and psychotherapy colleges within these facilities, aiming to cater to the shortage of general and specialized medical professionals in the state.
