Inox Air Products, the JV (Joint Venture) between Inox Leasing and Finance Ltd and USA-based Air Products & Chemicals, has signed an MoU (Memorandum of Understanding) with the Government of Maharashtra to develop the state’s first green ammonia plant, the company announced on Tuesday, January 16.
The proposed green ammonia plant will be developed at an estimated cost of USD 3 Billion (INR 25,000 Crore) and will have a capacity of 500,000 MTPA (Metric Tonnes Per Annum). It will produce liquid ammonia that will act as a climate-neutral hydrogen carrier and be used to make agricultural fertilizers.

The facility is anticipated to be completed within three to five years of commencement and will facilitate the global value chain for sustainable and versatile green hydrogen, announced the industrial and medical gases manufacturer in a press statement.
