Assam CM Himanta Biswa lays foundation for 2.84-km flyover on Lokhra road

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, on Thursday, February 01, laid the foundation stone for the construction of the 2.84km overbridge on Lokhra Road. The project connecting Birubari with Lalganesh locale on Lokhri Road is being developed at an estimated cost of INR 376 Crore.

The upcoming flyover is poised to ease traffic congestion in the Paltanbazar area to NH 27 and improve connectivity at Lokhora. It will be the 12th flyover in the city. Additionally, the CM discussed a few upcoming infrastructure projects with the Union Minister for Road Transport & Highways, Nitin Gadkari, including the 65km long 6-lane Guwahati Ring Road project.

The CM also inaugurated 31 community halls, 24 public toilets and 19 cremation/ burial grounds under the Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC) worth an aggregate cost of INR 14 Crore for the citizens.
