Odisha govt invites tender for construction of Puri’s Jagannath International Airport

Odisha Government has initiated the tender process for the construction of Puri’s Shree Jagannath International Airport at an estimated cost of INR 2203 Crore on a PPP (Public-Private Partnership) model. The project is expected to be completed within three years (1095 days) of commencement.

IDCO (Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation of Odisha), on behalf of the Commerce and Transport Department, Government of Odisha, will be executing this project and has floated tenders for the same. The online tender process will start on February 21, while technical bids will open on April 21, 2024. The international airport is expected to start commercial operations in seven years.

The Greenfield Airport will occupy an anticipated land area of 1164 acres, with 221.48 acres being privately owned in Sipasarubali (153.37 acres) and Sandhapur (68.11 acres). IDCO has acquired all necessary licences from the Environment, Forest and Climate Change, and forest land acquisition agencies for this project.
