Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), in collaboration with the government’s Centre for Development of Telematics (C-DOT), is embarking on an ambitious project to establish large data centers across India. This initiative is part of the INR 15,000 Crore deal with the state-owned telecommunications company, Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd (BSNL).
The data centers will support BSNL’s 4G network deployment. TCS will set up 38 deployments across all telecom circles of BSNL. These deployments will vary in capacity and serve different load requirements. Each of the four zones will have two large data centers: one for primary servers (PR) and another for disaster recovery (DR). Additionally, each telecom circle will have 30 data centers based on its specific needs.

The implementation is expected to be completed by June 2024. This project marks a significant milestone as it involves deploying India’s first locally developed 4G network solution, making TCS the first indigenous network solutions provider for BSNL.
