INOX Air Products to set up 190-tonne green hydrogen project in Rajasthan

On Tuesday, May 07, INOX Air Products announced its plans to establish its inaugural green hydrogen plant with an annual capacity of 190 tonnes in Chittorgarh, Rajasthan. The company will supply clean energy to Asahi India Glass Limited (AIS) through a 20-year offtake agreement. 

This initiative marks India’s first green hydrogen plant for the float glass industry, capable of producing 190 tonnes of green hydrogen annually through an electrolysis process. The project, powered by solar energy, is scheduled for commissioning by July 2024.

The project aims to achieve a reduction in carbon emissions by approximately 1,250 Metric Tonnes (MT) annually and by 25,000 MT over 20 years. 

INOX Air Products, headquartered in Mumbai, holds the title of being the largest manufacturer of industrial and medical gases in India. With a manufacturing capacity of 3,400 tonnes per day (TPD) of liquid gases, the company operates from 47 active locations.
