Fortis lines up INR 1,300 Crore capex to expand existing hospitals

Fortis Healthcare plans to make significant investments in expanding its existing hospitals. The company will invest an estimated INR 1,300 Crore in enhancing capacities at their current facilities over the next few years. The primary goal is to add approximately 2,200 beds during this expansion phase.

Fortis intends to increase bed capacity at various existing facilities, including hospitals in Faridabad and Anandpur Sahib. After expanding by 100 beds, the company plans to add another 50 beds in the next financial year at the Anandpur unit.

Additionally, Fortis is constructing another tower on the adjacent plot at Shalimar Bagh, providing more than 200 beds. It expects to commence construction of the Manesar facility by Q2 of this financial year. Initially, they will open 100 beds and assess the ramp-up.

Furthermore, Fortis is adding 100 beds to a facility in Kolkata, having received all the necessary approvals. They anticipate an occupancy certificate (OC) for the Bengaluru facility (BG Road) by the end of Q2 of this fiscal year. Currently, Fortis Healthcare operates over 4,500 operational beds across 28 hospitals in India.
