Gensol Engineering successfully won a project from Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited (GUVNL). It includes setting up a 250 MW/500 MWh standalone Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) project, valued at an estimated INR 1,340 Crore.
The BESS project will supply electricity “on demand” to Gujarat State’s DISCOMs whenever needed, during both peak and off-peak hours. Gensol Engineering will provide 250 MW/500 MWh of energy, allowing two charge and discharge cycles per day.

GUVNL also has the option to award an additional 250 MW/500 MWh under the same terms to Gensol Engineering. If exercised, the BESS project could expand to 500 MW/1000 MWh, generating about INR 2,680 crore over the 12-year Battery Energy Storage Purchase Agreement (BESPA).
