The Himachal government allocated an estimated INR 201 Crore for the construction of a cutting-edge milk processing plant in Dhagwar, Kangra district. This initiative is undertaken in fruitful collaboration with the National Dairy Development Board. The construction is slated to begin imminently.
Initially, the Dhagwar milk processing plant will have a capacity of an anticipated 1.50 Lakh liters per day. It will have the potential to expand to 3 Lakh Liters daily. Once operational, the government also plans to produce milk powder, ice cream, and various types of cheese at this facility.

This fully automatic plant will produce a variety of dairy products like curd, lassi, butter, ghee, paneer, and mozzarella cheese. Moreover, this project aims to boost the economic prosperity of farmers in Kangra, Hamirpur, Chamba, and Una districts. This project’s execution will empower dairy farmers, guaranteeing fair compensation for their efforts.
