The Network Planning Group (NPG) approved the Detailed Project Report (DPR) for the Lucknow Metro’s East-West Corridor. This project is estimated to cost INR 5,081 Crore.
The proposed East-West Corridor will span approximately 11.165 Km, with 4.286 Km elevated and 6.879 Km underground. It will feature 12 stations, seven of which will be underground. The estimated completion time is five years. Moreover, the East-West Corridor will connect to the existing North-South Corridor at the Charbagh Metro station, serving as an interchange station.

The stations for the East-West Corridor are as follows:
- Underground Stations are Charbagh, Gautam Buddha Nagar, Aminabad, Pandeyganj, City Railway Station, Medical Chauraha, and Chowk.
- Elevated Stations are Thakurganj, Balaganj, Sarfarazganj, Moosabagh, and Vasant Kunj.
This ambitious project connecting Charbagh to Vasant Kunj will be crucial for urban transportation in Lucknow’s Old City area as well as for the existing metro corridor.
