Kasimedu Fishing Harbor is poised for a significant transformation by March next year, as modernization work progresses. Under the guidance of the Chennai Port Trust, this ambitious project will unfold in two phases. The first phase allocates an estimated budget of INR 116 Crore. Meanwhile, the second phase will receive an additional INR 10.60 Crore, bringing the total investment to over INR 127 Crore.
This modernization will introduce state-of-the-art fish handling sheds, a ship uplift facility, and advanced vessel monitoring systems. Additionally, the Kasimedu Fishing Harbor will feature a high-rise compound wall, a peripheral road, and enhanced parking facilities. The upcoming project also emphasizes improved hygiene and sanitation within the harbor.
