Karnataka Government to construct 17 Elevated Corridors worth INR 12,000 Crore across city

The Karnataka Government has unveiled an ambitious plan to construct 17 elevated corridors across the city. This grand initiative, estimated at a staggering INR 12,000 Crore will transform approximately 100 Km of roads into smooth, signal-free stretches. Consequently, it will enhance urban mobility and reduce congestion throughout the city.

The corridors will focus on high-traffic areas including:

  • K.R. Puram to Goraguntepalya: A 23 km route encompassing Old Madras Road, Ulsoor Lake, Jayamahal Road, Mekhri Circle, and Yeshwanthpur.
  • Hosur Road: A 5.5 km corridor linking Anepalya to Silk Board, passing through key junctions such as Forum Mall and Madiwala.
  • Marenahalli to Kanakapura Road: A 10 km elevated corridor improving access to Nice Road.

In addition to the Karnataka elevated corridors, a twin-tube tunnel along the north-south corridor has been proposed. This 18.5 km tunnel, extending from Esteem Mall to Silk Board, aims to reduce congestion and enhance air quality. The proposal is expected to be submitted to the Cabinet for approval soon.
