Over 1,620 New Construction Projects Tracked in August 2024

In August 2024, Biltrax Construction Data documented over 1,620 new construction projects. These include 980 building projects and 640 industrial and infrastructure projects.

Building Construction Projects Insights

The 980 new building projects incorporated in August cover a total area of 238.25 Million-SqFt, with a total construction cost of 100,419 INR-Crore. Of these, 391 projects are under construction, while 589 are in the early stages. The breakdown includes 594 private projects and 386 public projects.

Among the significant construction projects in August is Raiaskaran Tech Park by Raiaskaran Group, a commercial project in Mumbai, Maharashtra. This project covers an impressive 12.84 Acres of land parcel with an estimated construction cost of 2,797 INR-Crore. The project boasts state-of-the-art office spaces, modern amenities, and dedicated recreational areas. 

Another notable construction project in August includes a mixed-use development named ‘NBCC Srinagar Satellite Township’, in Jammu & Kashmir. The National Buildings Construction Corporation (NBCC), in collaboration with the Srinagar Development Authority (SDA), is spearheading this project. The township has a construction cost of 15,000 INR-Crore, spanning an anticipated 406 Acres of land parcel. It will feature residential plots, luxury villas, apartment complexes, commercial spaces, a five-star resort, and an indoor sports center. Additionally, it will provide around 3,200 affordable housing units to cater to a wider demographic.

In August, 528 new tenders were floated with a total tender value of over 19,971.77 INR-Crore. Notable tender issuers include the Public Works Department, Maharashtra (PWD), the Central Public Works Department (CPWD), the Rajasthan State Road Development & Construction Corporation Ltd (RSRDC), and the Jharkhand State Building Construction Corporation Ltd.

Industrial and Infrastructure Projects Insights

In August 2024, 415 industrial projects worth 51,953 INR-Crore and 225 infrastructure projects worth 29,718 INR-Crore were also documented.

The 415 industrial projects span a total area of 44.62 Million-SqFt, with a total construction cost of 51,953 INR-Crore. Maharashtra leads with 88 projects, followed by Jammu & Kashmir, Gujarat, Haryana, and Tamil Nadu. 

For water infrastructure projects in August, 193 projects worth 11,580 INR-Crore were tracked. Kerala attracted the highest number of water projects with 46, followed by Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Karnataka, and Tamil Nadu.

August also saw major transport infrastructure projects. One notable construction project in August is the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority’s (MMRDA) upcoming project at Thane Godhbunder Road. The project will be developed in two parts. The first part entails the construction of an underground road tunnel from Gaimukh to Fountain Hotel Junction. The estimated construction cost for this part of the project is 4,114 INR-Crore. The second part includes the construction of an elevated road from Fountain Hotel Junction to Bhayander. The estimated construction cost for this part of the project is 2,848 INR-Crore. 

A major industrial project in August includes an Electric & ICE Vehicle Manufacturing Unit in Aurangabad, Maharashtra. Toyota Kirloskar Motor Pvt Ltd is the developer of this project and the estimated construction cost is 16,000 INR-Crore. The factory will produce electric and hybrid cars and will manufacture 4,00,000 vehicles annually.
