The Jharkhand Government approved several major proposals to boost the education sector on Monday, October 14, committing an estimated 530 INR-Crore. It greenlit the construction of new engineering colleges and polytechnics across Jamshedpur, promising transformative growth in regional education.
The government sanctioned an estimated
- 134.18 INR-Crore for Government Polytechnic at Chakulia.
- 254.93 INR-Crore for Government Engineering College in Jamshedpur.
- 136.13 INR-Crore for Government Polytechnic in Potka.
- 39.21 INR-Crore for constructing a degree college at Thakurgangti, Godda.
- 38.20 INR-Crore for building a women’s college at Baharagora.
Meanwhile, the government also gave a go-ahead for an estimated 42.83 INR-Crore towards the second phase of the Netarhat Tourism Project. It also approved the establishment of new institutes modeled after the Netarhat Residential School in Kolhan, Santhal Pargana, and North Chotanagpur divisions.

Additionally, in the infrastructure sector, around 109.16 INR-Crore was allocated for road reconstruction in Garhwa. Another 50 INR-Crore was approved for setting up integrated science and math laboratories in elementary schools, fostering a stronger learning environment.
Furthermore, the Jharkhand Government allocated 20 INR-Crore for the initial three years of the Jharkhand State Institutional Ranking Framework (JSIRF). With these decisions, the government aims to advance education, infrastructure, and tourism, paving the way for sustainable development across the state.
