State Cabinet approves Hyderabad Metro Rail Phase-2 Project

The State Cabinet greenlit the much-anticipated Hyderabad Metro Phase-2 project on Saturday, October 26. This ambitious expansion, estimated to cost 24,200 INR-Crore, stretches over 76.4 Km and aims to enhance connectivity throughout Hyderabad. With five major corridors included, the project responds to the city’s growing need for efficient public transport.

Hyderabad Metro Phase-2 will operate under a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model, ensuring smooth execution and streamlined operations. The state has also secured collaboration from the central government, reflecting a unified effort to upgrade urban mobility. The project approval came along with the Detailed Project Report (DPR), laying a solid foundation for swift implementation.

Key Corridors in Hyderabad Metro Phase-2  

Nagole to Shamshabad: Linking the eastern suburbs to the airport for smooth transit.  

Raidurg to Kokapet: Serving the IT hub and easing traffic in busy commercial zones.  

MGBS to Chandrayangutta: Connecting the old city with emerging areas.  

Miyapur to Patancheru: Catering to the fast-growing suburban population.  

LB Nagar to Hayathnagar: Easing congestion in the southeastern parts of the city.
