The Railways has approved an estimated 509 INR-Crore for two major flyover projects in Odisha’s Cuttack and Rayagada districts. This initiative aims to improve operational efficiency and reduce traffic congestion on critical railway routes.

In Cuttack, a 10.89 Km flyover project will connect Rajathgarh, Radhakishorepur, and Machhapur stations. This flyover, costing an estimated 268.92 INR-Crore, will enable simultaneous train movements. By minimizing delays from cross-traffic at busy junctions, the project will enhance network efficiency. Additionally, the Railway Board has sanctioned 240 INR-Crore for the Raipur-Vizianagaram line under East Coast Railway’s Waltair division.

The highlight of this project is a 5.5 Km railway flyover designed to streamline traffic on this vital route. This flyover will allow seamless train merging with the loop line at Singapur Road, facilitating smoother and uninterrupted operations. Furthermore, these flyover projects are aimed at expanding traffic capacity and eliminating bottlenecks at the Khurda Road and Waltair divisions.
