Prime Minister Narendra Modi virtually laid the foundation stone for the main campus of Maharana Pratap Horticultural University (MHU) in Uchani, Karnal, Haryana on Monday, December 9. This project has an estimated cost of 700 INR-Crore, with 421 INR-Crore dedicated to building the main campus.
Spread across an anticipated 65 Acres along NH 44, the Maharana Pratap Horticultural University campus will showcase academic and administrative blocks, modern hostels, staff quarters, guest accommodations, and auditoriums. It will also include recreational spaces designed to foster holistic learning. Additionally, the university will offer a range of undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs specializing in fruits, vegetables, floriculture, and landscape gardening.

Furthermore, six regional research stations across Haryana will further strengthen the university’s focus on addressing location-specific horticultural needs. As India’s seventh horticultural university, Maharana Pratap Horticultural University promises to elevate Haryana’s agricultural landscape.
