The Gujarat Olympic Planning and Infrastructure Development Corporation Ltd (Golympic) has invited tenders for project management consultancy for the following projects: Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Sports Enclave and the Karai Sports Hub.
These projects are part of India’s bid to host the 2036 Olympics, with Ahmedabad set to be the host city if the bid succeeds. The government is focusing on building state-of-the-art sports infrastructure, with the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Sports Enclave being the flagship initiative. Estimated at 6,000 INR-Crore, the enclave will cover a vast 355 Acres site in Motera, next to the iconic Narendra Modi Stadium.
This expansive development will feature several permanent venues, including the Narendra Modi Cricket Stadium, which will seat 110,000 spectators. Additionally, a multipurpose indoor arena will host 18,000 people, while an aquatics center will have a permanent seating capacity of 4,000. The tennis center will accommodate 10,000 spectators with the possibility of adding 5,000 temporary seats.

These venues are designed to meet the strict standards required for major international sporting events, such as the Olympics and Paralympics.
Post-Olympics, the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Sports Enclave will transform into a hub for international events, sports academies, high-performance centers, and public recreation. Golympic will also oversee the establishment of the National Institute of Sporting Excellence (NISE), a legacy of the Games.
