Yitoa Micro Technology Ltd (YMTL) of Japan has signed an MoU with the Andhra Pradesh Government to establish India’s first private semiconductor manufacturing facility. With an investment exceeding an estimated 14,000 INR-Crore, this project will be located at the Orvakal Industrial Park in Kurnool district.
The state-of-the-art facility will specialize in producing Silicon Carbide (SiC) chips. These chips will drive India’s technological progress while aligning with its sustainability objectives. Additionally, the semiconductor manufacturing facility in Andhra Pradesh will start with a monthly production of 10,000 wafers. Over the next 2-3 years, this capacity will expand to an impressive 50,000 monthly wafers.
