Over 1,332 New Construction Projects Tracked in December 2024

In December 2024, Biltrax Construction Data documented over 1,332 new construction projects. These include 791 building projects and 541 industrial & infrastructure projects.

Building Construction Projects Insights – December 2024

The 791 new building projects incorporated in December 2024 cover a combined 224.27 Million-SqFt, with a total construction cost of 79,549 INR-Crore. Of these, 380 projects are under construction, while 555 are in the early stages. The breakdown further includes 474 private projects and 236 public projects.

Among the significant construction projects in December 2024 is Meera Shantivanam Pvt Ltd‘s mixed-use development in Hyderabad. This project is being developed in a phased manner across an anticipated 551.53 Acres of land parcel. With almost 50% of the overall development completed, it is estimated at 2,526 INR-Crore. As of December 2024, Phase 5 is 90% completed, while Phase 6 construction work is yet to start.

Another notable construction project in December includes the development of SAG AUDA Karai Sports Hub, in Gandhinagar. This sports infrastructure project has an estimated construction cost of 1,200 INR-Crore sprawling a massive 143 Acres of land. Being developed by Ahmedabad Urban Development Authority (AUDA), this project is currently in the pre-construction stage. As of December 2024, the authority has floated a tender for the selection of a PMC consultant.

In December 2024, 311 new tenders were floated with a total tender value of over 13,453.58 INR-Crore. Notable tender issuers include the Central Public Works Department (CPWD), Military Engineer Services (MES), NBCC (India) Ltd, and Jharkhand State Building Construction Corporation Ltd.

Industrial and Infrastructure Projects Insights

In December 2024, 349 industrial projects worth 123,239 INR-Crore & 192 infrastructure projects worth 40,405 INR-Crore were also documented.

The 349 industrial projects span a total area of 76.98 Million-SqFt. Maharashtra and Telangana lead with 59 and 40 projects, respectively. Meanwhile, Gujarat, Tamil Nadu, and Karnataka followed closely.

Additionally, Biltrax tracked 146 water infrastructure projects in December, worth 7,851 INR-Crore. Rajasthan attracted the highest number of water projects with 23, followed by Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka, Uttar Pradesh, and Tamil Nadu.

December 2024 also saw major transport infrastructure projects. One such notable project is the NHAI 4-laning of Kalibor-Numaligarh Section of NH 715. This project involves widening and improvement of existing carriageway to 4-lane of Kalibor-Numaligarh Section. It also includes implementation of wildlife friendly measures proposed on Kaziranga National Park (KNP) stretch in Assam. It will be developed under the Hybrid Annuity Model under NH(O). The construction cost of the project is estimated to be 5,066 INR-Crore.

Lastly, a major industrial project in December 2024 includes the Vellore Information Silicon Wafers Manufacturing Unit, in Ratnagiri. Developed by Vellore Information Technology Park Pvt Ltd, this project has an estimated investment cost of 19,550 INR-Crore. The overall construction cost of the project is projected at 14,662 INR-Crore with a construction area of approximately 400,000 SqFt.
