HMWS&SB has invited e-tenders for two large projects under the Godavari drinking water supply scheme. These projects will channel Godavari water into Osmansagar and Himayathsagar reservoirs, rejuvenate the Musi River, and guarantee a steady drinking water supply.

The first package involves manufacturing, supplying, and installing a 3000mm diameter pipeline from Mallannasagar to Ghanpur. Additionally, authorities will construct a pump house at Mallannasagar with electromechanical equipment, transformers, and a substation. This package also includes a 1,170 MLD water treatment plant and a 40 ML clear water reservoir-cum-pump house at Ghanpur. The estimated cost for this work is 3,225.47 INR-Crore, along with a 10-year operation and maintenance expense of 105.48 INR-Crore.

The second package includes the installation of various pumping mains, pipelines, water treatment plants, and additional infrastructure to connect the reservoirs and improve the water distribution system. This package will cost an estimated 1,992.22 INR-Crore, with a 10 year O&M charge of 60.50 INR-Crore.

Both projects will follow the hybrid annuity model, ensuring seamless execution, efficient manning, and long-term upkeep. With these developments, Godavari water will flow smoothly, benefiting thousands and securing Hyderabad’s water future.
