SJVN has signed an MoU with the Chhattisgarh Government and CSPGCL to develop a massive pumped storage project in Kotpali, Balrampur district. This 1,800 MW facility will strengthen energy storage and improve grid stability.
With an estimated investment of 9,500 INR-Crore, the pumped storage project in Chhattisgarh will generate 3,967 million units (MU) of electricity. As renewable energy sources like solar and wind continue to expand, this project will ensure a reliable power supply.

Furthermore, the pumped storage project will create around 5,000 direct and indirect jobs. By blending innovation with sustainability, this initiative will play a crucial role in shaping India’s future energy.
