Wistron picks Shapoorji Pallonji to build 1,500 INR-Crore laptop manufacturing plant in Bengaluru

Taiwan-based electronics giant Wistron has signed a construction contract with Shapoorji Pallonji to build its new laptop manufacturing facility in Bengaluru. The project is part of Wistron’s 1,500 INR-Crore investment plan. The construction contract alone is valued at nearly 30 USD-Million.

The Karnataka Government had allocated around 32 Acres of land in the Hi-Tech Defence & Aerospace Park in Devanahalli, on the city’s outskirts. Wistron will soon begin construction work at the site. Additionally, the facility is expected to start laptop manufacturing by January 2026.

Moreover, the project will generate employment for around 3,000 people. Over time, Wistron aims to export more than 50% of the laptops made at this location. Through this initiative, the company intends to boost India’s position in global electronics production.
