The Andhra Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation (APMRC) has issued a Request for Proposal (RFP) to appoint a general consultant for the Vijayawada Metro Rail Project’s Phase 1. This follows a similar move for the Visakhapatnam Metro. The consultancy, valued at an estimated 2.05 INR-Crore, will oversee critical project aspects.

The general consultant’s responsibilities include procurement support, design services, construction management, supervision, system integration, interface management, and testing. Additionally, the consultant will manage infrastructure and commission the 38.40 Km Phase-1 network. Phase-1 comprises two corridors: Phase-1A from Gannavaram to PNBS station and Phase-1B from PNBS to Penamaluru. The network features 33 stations, including one underground, and a 4.70 Km double-decker flyover. The total project cost, including the flyover, is approximately 8,700 INR-Crore.
