Bihar is set for a major upgrade under the AMRUT 2.0 scheme. The state cabinet has approved over 250 INR-Crore for drinking water projects in Darbhanga and Aurangabad, alongside a sewerage network in Buxar. These initiatives aim to enhance water supply and sanitation for thousands of households.
In Aurangabad, a 72.44 INR-Crore project will establish a 135.1 Km water distribution network. This will provide 14,225 new household connections, ensuring access to safe drinking water. The infrastructure will significantly improve urban living standards.

Meanwhile, Darbhanga’s 186.15 INR-Crore project under AMRUT 2.0 is more extensive. It includes a 211 Km network to deliver 24,183 household connections. The setup features 16 tube wells, chlorinator-equipped pump houses, six water towers, and 20.3 Km of rising mains.
Additionally, the Buxar Sewerage Network Project, costing 255.88 INR-Crore, targets improved sanitation. A 112 Km sewerage network will connect 14,750 households across 28 wards. The project includes two pumping stations and 1,075 rising mains, addressing critical urban sanitation needs.
