Adani Green Energy Ltd (AGEL), India’s largest renewable energy company, recently announced it will invest an estimated INR 1.5 Trillion in expanding its manufacturing capacity in Gujarat. Additionally, it will invest INR 50,000 Crore for adding 6-7GW capacity in similar projects across various regions in India. The company is set to invest nearly INR 2.3 Trillion through 2023, contributing 45GW to India’s renewable energy expansion through solar and wind manufacturing capacity addition.
AGEL plans to expand its current capacity from 2GW to 30GW to generate electricity from solar and wind power at its Khavda, Kutch (Gujarat) plant. The project will generate 26GW of energy from solar power as well as 4GW of energy from wind power. The world’s largest renewable energy project spans over an anticipated 539 SqKm of land and is expected to generate 81 Billion units of power at peak.

Moreover, Adani Group‘s flagship Adani New Industries Ltd (ANIL) will invest an estimated INR 30,000 Crore for expanding solar cell and wind turbine manufacturing capacity at Mundra, Gujarat. The company plans to increase the plant’s current capacity from 4GW to 10GW by 2026-27. It is also planning to double its capacity to 5GW for making windmills to generate electricity from wind power within the next 42 months.
