The Kerala State Industrial Development Corporation (KSIDC) and Muralya Dairy Products Pvt. Ltd. have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish a dairy project and logistics facility. This facility is in the Ernakulam district.
M.G. Rajamanickam, Managing Director of KSIDC, and K. Muraleedharan, Chairperson and Managing Director of Muralya Dairy Products, signed the MoU in front of Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and Industries Minister P. Rajeev.
The new project is the second plant of the UAE-based SFC Group subsidiary Muralya Dairy Products Pvt. Ltd. in the State. To meet the needs of Central and North Kerala, the project is being built at a cost of INR 100 crores. They will build the project in KSIDC’s industrial area in Angamaly, on 4.60 acres of the leased property. They expect it to generate a profit in two to three years and create work for at least 5,200 people, including about 300 indirect positions.
The State government is offering financial and infrastructure development support, time-bound clearances, and other help under various policies and regulations. According to Mr Rajamanickam, this would make it easier for the company to establish the factory and ensure smooth operations in the State.
The proposed project will represent a milestone in Kerala’s quest for milk production self-sufficiency. This facility will produce 100 KLPD of liquid milk at the installed capacity. The product category comprises milk products including paneer, butter (in cubes, slices, and table butter), ice cream, and flavour-infused fresh milk, among others, as well as fluid milk varieties. The product line will include premium fluid milk variations, such as farm fresh, whole milk, A2 milk, lactogen-free milk, and Ultra High Temperature (UHT) milk.
