AmpIn Energy Transition announced setting up a 6MW (Megawatt) Solar Project for the Maharashtra Metro Rail Corporation Ltd (MMRCL) Nagpur Metro Rail Project. The company signed a power purchase agreement (PPA) with MMRCL for 25 years on Thursday, January 18.
The upcoming solar project will be developed in two packages of 2.5MWp and 3.5MWp respectively. The overall capacity will be distributed across 19 sites, including 13 metro station rooftops and two depot building rooftops. The project is anticipated to replace 36% of the grid power with solar power for Nagpur Metro, saving nearly 41% savings per unit.

This project marks AmpIn’s third solar project for metro rail following two successful operational projects for L&T Metro and Kochi Metro. It will also contribute towards Maharashtra’s renewable energy goals for mass public transportation.
