Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma, on Monday, January 01, laid the foundation stone for a four-lane elevated corridor in Guwahati as an initiative to transform the state into the ‘Gateway to South Asia’. The project will be developed under the supervision of the Public Works (Road) Department, Government of Assam.
The flyover measuring 5053.20m in length and elevated at 5.70m will be developed at an estimated cost of INR 852.68 Crore. It will be Guwahati’s longest flyover connecting Dighalipukhuri with Noonmati and have extended arms towards GNB Road, West Dighalipukhuri Road, and Rajgarh Road.

The elevated corridor is scheduled to be operational by 2026 and will aid in seamless and smooth traffic movement. Additionally, it will provide much-needed parking spaces below the flyover, boosting business establishments along Dighalipukhuri to Noonmati.
