The Assam government approved the construction of a 1000 km high-speed economic corridor. The Assam Tourism Minister, Jayanta Malla Baruah, announced on Monday, October 9, that the corridor would be a part of the “Asom Mala” project.
The estimated construction cost of the corridor is 3000 INR-Crore. The purpose of this project is to streamline logistics, reduce transportation costs, and enhance connectivity between urban centers and rural areas.

Apart from this, the Assam government has also sanctioned several projects such as a Judicial Guest House in Kaziranga, and a new office building for the Commissioner of Taxes worth 11.91 INR-Crore, along with raising a loan worth 950.43 INR-Crore for the upgradation of 90 rural roads and four rural bridges from NABARD.
