Ather Energy will set up an electric scooter plant at Aurangabad Industrial City (AURIC), the Maharashtra state government announced on Wednesday, June 26. The plant will be situated in central Maharashtra’s Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar district.
The upcoming electric scooter plant will cost an estimated INR 2,000 Crore. It will produce up to 1 Million vehicles and battery packs annually. Additionally, it will create around 4,000 employment opportunities.

Ather Energy’s new plant highlights Maharashtra’s supportive business environment. Moreover, it aligns with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision for India’s industrial growth, said Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. Consequently, the plant will boost electric vehicle manufacturing in the region.
