Bihar Cabinet approves Social and Environmental Development Projects

Patna: On Tuesday, Bihar’s Chief Minister, Nitish Kumar, chaired a cabinet meeting that approved 24 proposals. The proposal approved by the state cabinet includes building a government medical college and hospital in Bihar’s Supaul district. RM Lohia Medical College and Hospital, named after the socialist leader, will be the government’s 12th Medical College and Hospital. The total construction cost estimates are INR 603,68 crores.

The cabinet has also approved the proposal of the Urban Development and Housing Department, according to media reports and, as quoted by additional chief secretary, cabinet, S Sidharth. This proposal includes the construction of an integrated drainage system in Patna and adjoining towns like Phulwari Sharif, Danapur, and Khagaul at the estimated cost of ₹957 crores. The Urban Development and Housing Department (UDHD) introduced this proposal some years ago.

A Sewage Treatment Plant (STP), along with other proposed projects that have a projected budget of ₹67.28 crores. The Bihar government will build the project under the Namani Gange scheme.

In addition, the state cabinet approved the construction of a museum in the Bihar legislative assembly at a cost of ₹48.76 crores. The construction of a museum aims to conserve the articles of legislative practices and milestones.
