The Bihar Government has approved an estimated 300 INR-Crore plan to develop six major temples. Officials have decided to transform Baba Hariharnath Temple to resemble the Kashi Vishwanath Corridor. HCP Design Planning and Management Company, the team behind Kashi’s redevelopment, will design this ambitious project.
Singheshwar Sthan Temple in Madhepura district will soon be upgraded with modern amenities. The government has allocated around 90.27 INR-Crore to build a Dharamshala, food court, market complex, boundary wall, pathways, parking, toilets, and a solar power plant. Meanwhile, Someshwarnath Mahadev Temple in East Champaran is set for an estimated 106 INR-Crore transformation. The plan includes a boundary wall, entrance gate, toilet block, parking, banquet hall, changing room, and an amenity hall. Authorities have also approved around 36 INR-Crore for a new road connecting the temple to Fatuha Chowk, ensuring better accessibility.

Furthermore, The Puran Devi Temple in Purnea will undergo a 34.08 INR-Crore makeover. The project will introduce a boundary wall, foot-over bridge, multi-story building, guest house, cafeteria, and a lotus-petal-shaped gazebo. At the same time, Phulhar Sthan in Harlakhi will transform into a modern religious tourism hub, with an estimated cost of 31.55 INR-Crore.
Moreover, the Kusheshwarsthan Temple in Darbhanga will receive a new temple building, Panda residence, shops, high mast lights, and a solar power system. With the development of these temples, Bihar aims to enhance its religious tourism sector, attracting devotees and tourists from across the country.
