On August 16th, Wednesday, the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs approved seven railway multi-tracking projects in India, with an approximate cost of INR 32,500 Crore.
These projects will be constructed using the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) mode and will receive 100% funding from the central government.
Encompassing 35 districts across 9 states, namely Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Odisha, Jharkhand, and West Bengal, these projects will expand the Indian Railways’ existing network by 2,339 kilometers.
