The City Corporation has greenlit an estimated 124.35 INR-Crore sewerage network extension project to bolster sanitation infrastructure. Spanning an anticipated 42.7 Km, the pipeline will serve regions like Muttathara, Beemapally, Chackai, and Thumba, connecting 7,338 households to improved sanitation systems.

The project allocates around 91 INR-Crore for a 26.8 Km pipeline linking Attakulangara and Ambalathara wards. Additionally, an 18.8 Km section in Attakulangara ward secures 66.5 INR-Crore. This investment underscores the city’s commitment to robust infrastructure development.

Furthermore, a 15 INR-Crore tertiary treatment plant will enhance water quality for eco-friendly applications. The treated water, currently used for gardening, will support industrial and environmental needs. The sewerage network expansion addresses critical sanitation demands while integrating innovative waste and water management solutions.
